Post by Kay.
Although summer is officially over in our hemisphere, this post is for all of you lucky people in the world who are still in sunny climes- and I’m sure I’m not the only one who makes the most of the extended heat of southern Europe (I had a Spanish early September) or has a sneaky escape from the cold, wet and grey.
Thandie, meanwhile, spent her late-August hols in Ibiza so I asked her about her holiday skincare and make-up routine to go along with some gorgeous photos that photographer Caroline McClelland took of Thandie in Mauritius for Elle magazine where Thandie did her own make-up (yes, I have serious competition).
Yes, I only use a light moisturizer in the areas that are prone to dryness. Sweating under unnecessary moisturizer is only going to lead to breakouts.

I use a light coating of Olay CC Cream, it has SPF15 so it’s great mixed with my with Make-Up Forever Face & Body Fluid. If I don’t have a tan I can get away with using the CC Cream alone, but the darkest CC Cream isn’t rich enough in tone for my skin when tanned, so the Make-Up Forever fluid is perfect for evening out my skintone whilst remaining sheer. For any blemishes, I use a dab of Tea Tree Oil.

As for concealer, it’s about having the right texture as even with a good suntan I still have little spider veins around my nose and dark circles under my eyes. I love Becca Duo Concealer as it’s more on the dry side, which is perfect in humidity as it stays in place.

My usual blotting sheets don’t cut it in the humidity, so my favourite tip is to use one ply of a tissue wrapped around a powder puff to blot sheen. On a balmy Summer evening I’ll dust my t-zone with Jurlique’s delicious scented translucent powder.
My trusted Julie Hewett ‘Cheekie’ Cheek & Lip Shine is a blusher for all seasons. It has an amazingly natural appearance – there’s no shimmer, only pigment and a gel like balm which is very stable and not greasy, so it doesn’t block the pores. It also doubles up as a lip stain!
