Video. How to get the Lavender look

Posted by Kay.

Hi everyone, we’re both very proud to present our first mini make-up movie for ThandieKay.

This was such fun, we re-worked the Lavender eyes I created for Thandie when we first met on a Vogue shoot (read about that here) , just after her Bafta win 8 years ago.

We hope you like it!

    Hi Ladies,

I love the idea of the website being a woman of colour myself and had been looking forward to it going live. I also love the tutorials except that you don’t give any tips, what brushes you use or the colours/brands (ideally a combination of high end and high street). I am not sure you’ll appreciate it, but the gold standard is Lisa Eldridge’s tutorials – she gives products to use for white, mixed race, darker skin tones for most of her tutorials even if she uses predominantly white models. Please put down at least the names/brands of the make up you use if not providing links to it!

    Thanks,
    B

Thanks Bushra, we appreciate all feedback-thank you. Lisa’s tutorials are wonderful, and we would never wish to replicate them, it wouldn’t be our thing-‘tutorials’ is a loose term here, they’re more to inspire an idea. Though the products used in our m-up film were listed at the end.
Tips are coming, we have a Chanel post going live Wed 18th which is much more of a trad step by step.
I must admit despite being a m-up artist I’ve never been much of a product junkie and never followed rules so I guess the site will reflect this.
Perhaps you’ll find stuff here you don’t find elsewhere? Hope so!

  5. ThandieKay is already my go to beauty blog, it’s amazing!

Can you recommend a lavender/purple eyeliner? I have a similar skin tone to Thandie’s.
