Now that summer’s just around the corner; it’s time to invite friends and family over for drinks and a grilled steak extravaganza!

But, do you know how to grill steaks like the pros? If you cook your meat using the wrong methods, it could end up being chewy and lacking flavor.

You’ll be glad to hear you can avoid this culinary disaster by following a few expert hints and tips.

Read on to learn more about the best steak-grilling techniques.

Prepare Your Steaks

Lift your steak out of the fridge about thirty minutes prior to putting it on the grill and allow it to come to room temperature to help it cook more evenly.

You can also add seasoning and sauces to give your steak extra delicious flavors.

Popular options include using olive oil, salt, or a balsamic herb sauce, and you might already have your preferred grilled steak recipe.

But, if you would like the ingredients you need already organized and beautifully presented, you could buy a steak box gift that takes the guesswork out of grilling the perfect steak.

How to Grill Steaks Over a High Heat

You want to heat your grill up to around 600°F when grilling a steak. If you grill at a lower temperature, it will take longer to cook your meat, and more moisture will escape, making your steak drier and tougher.

This means it’s important to cook directly over the flames, so your steak is exposed to the maximum amount of heat in the shortest possible timeframe.

You should also avoid opening the grill lid too often, as this will result in a drop in temperature, and your steaks will take longer to cook.

Don’t Flip Steaks Too Often

It can be tempting to flip your steaks often to ensure each side cooks evenly. But, when grilling, the juices inside the meat move away from the heat source, and you can disrupt this process if you keep turning the meat.

Instead, be patient and flip your meat as little as possible. You can always use a meat thermometer to check your meat is safe to eat before you stop grilling.

Let Your Steaks Rest

When grilling steak to perfection, many chefs make the mistake of lifting the meat off the grill and telling guests to come and dig in. However, you need to let your steak rest on a plate for a minimum of five minutes.

This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, giving it that moist and juicy texture. As your steaks will stay warm for quite a while after coming off the grill, there’s no need to rush this step.

Enjoy Your Succulent Steaks

When you know how to grill steaks in the right way, you can look forward to serving your guests a tender and juicy meal. The key is to take your time when preparing your steaks and to grill them over high heat.

You should also avoid turning your meat more than necessary, and it’s beneficial to give them time to rest when they come off the grill.

You could soon get a reputation as the local steak grill master!
