Why More People Are Moving Away From Cities to Rural Areas

December 15, 2021 · Cherry · Leave a Comment

Cities quickly become overcrowded, and people are looking for a new place to live. In the past few years, more and more people have been moving from cities to rural areas, searching for a better quality of life. Whether it’s because they’re tired of being around too many people or want some peace, here are six reasons why more people are moving away from cities to rural areas instead:

The Average Commute Time in the United States is 25 Minutes

Most cities are located near major highways and local roads, making it easy to get around. However, the average commute time in the United States is 25 minutes one way (five days a week), which can be stressful when you’re trying to make sure that everything gets done each day.

There Are More Economic Opportunities in Rural Areas

Rural living has become much more popular over the past few years because there are plenty of job opportunities available if you know where to look. For example, many rural areas have started growing marijuana or producing hemp products like CBD oil, which means there’s demand for farmers who want to grow these crops commercially. Not only does this open up new jobs, but it also creates an opportunity for people to start their businesses.

Rural Living is Much Cheaper Than Living in a City

In most cases, living in rural areas is much cheaper than it is in cities. For example, you can buy a house for half the price of what you would pay for a similar home in a city. And, since there’s not as much competition for space and resources, food and other everyday items are also typically less expensive when bought from local stores. If you are looking to add decks & docks to your property when you move, find more information on deck construction and dock installation.

People Who Live In Rural Areas Have More Space For Their Family

Compared to major metropolitan areas, rural communities usually have more space per person. This means that you don’t have to worry about your kids playing outside or your pets running around. Many rural areas are known for their wide-open spaces and picturesque landscapes.

Crime Rates Are Lower Outside of Major Metropolitan Areas

The FBI publishes an annual report on crime in the United States that includes data from over 18,000 law enforcement agencies. According to their most recent report, the crime rate is highest in large cities (those with a population of 500,000 or more) and lowest in rural areas.

Rural Communities Usually Offer Better Schools With Smaller Class Sizes

One of the biggest benefits of living in a rural community is that schools are usually much better than in cities. There are fewer students per teacher, which means each student gets more attention. In addition, many rural schools have strong athletic and arts programs, which can be great for kids who want to get involved in extracurricular activities.

The list of reasons to move away from major cities and rural areas is long. There are more economic opportunities; living costs are much lower, crime rates are safer outside of urban centers, schools in rural communities offer smaller class sizes which can be great for children. Whether you’re looking to buy a house or live somewhere quieter with better air quality, the suburbs might be worth considering over the city center.
